My adult science-fiction / horror novel Razorjack: Double-Crossing was launched one month ago and I’m very proud of it. Even though I say so myself, it’s a very good book: exciting, funny, action-packed…

It’s the sort of book that, had I not written it myself, I’m certain that I’d have been reading it thinking, “This is great! I wish I’d written this!”

Other readers, who are more impartial, have described it as “a cracking read and up there with the best of Mike’s writing” and “I gorged through this in a couple of days and can heartily recommend it to anyone who like their books fast-paced and violent.”

But, to be honest, the sales figures have been disappointing.

How disappointing? Well, by way of illustration, let’s compare the sales to some kind of mountain-climbing event, where waiting at the summit is “Best-Seller.” A few levels down we find “Wow, This is Doing Really Well!” Half-way up the mountain is “Good.” That sort of thing.

Right now, “Poor” is shouting down to “Dismal” asking if there’s any sign yet of the Razorjack: Double-Crossing sales figures, and, below them, “Laughable” and “Pathetic” are nervously peering down into the abyss wondering whether they should call the emergency services…

In an attempt to rectify that, I’ll be running a “Kindle Countdown Deal” on Amazon.co.uk and Amazon.com (not allowed to do it on other Amazon sites, sorry!). The Countdown Deal allows me to drop the price way down, then raise it gradually over a period of time.

At 8am this coming Saturday (July 18th), on Amazon.co.uk the price will be dropped to a staggeringly low £1.99, then increase by £1 per day until it reaches its usual price of £4.49 on Wednesday.

At the same time, on Amazon.com the price will drop to $1.99, then increase by $1 per day until Wednesday when it’ll return to the usual price of only $6.99.
